Catherine Liles

My name is Catherine Liles. I’m 50 years old and from a very small town called Monette in Arkansas. I’ve been married to my husband Mark Liles for a little over 26 years now. We have one amazing son, Christian Liles who is 26 years old. By God’s grace and mercy, I entered the Mission on August 23, 2021. I had been battling a meth addiction for over 20 years. My addiciton to meth began when I was in my early 20’s. With each year it just became worse and worse. Tearing down not only me and my life, but my family’s lives also.

Not long after my addiction began, my mother passed away, which just drove me deeper into addiction. Then my brother (and best friend) passed away. This destroyed me inside and out. I felt like my entire world crashed at this point. My marriage was falling apart and I had lost the 2 people that I needed the most. So I began trying to numb the pain by doing more meth so that I wouldn’t care what was going on around me. This continued for years to come leading up to the night I cried out to God.

I was hearing gut wrenching voices and kept getting worse. That is until my son’s voice became one of the voices saying “momma help me!” That’s the night I decided I was done with drugs. I admitted myself into a mental hospital and a week later I was in the Mission. My life has not been the same since. God saw fit to save me the night I cried out to Him. I am forever grateful for the Crossville Mission! I graduated from the 8-10 month program, stayed for the 10-12 month staff training, graduated staff training and am now the Program Overseer! All glory be to God. -Psalm 118:17 “I will not die; instead I will live to tell the works of the Lord.
