Travis McArthur

Hey everyone! My name is Travis McArthur. I have been here at the Crossville Mission Bible Training Center for a little over two and a half years. How I originally ended up here is quite a long story, so I will give you the quick version and then tell you just how great God is.

I spent my whole life trying to fill this void of not belonging. I found alcohol, it failed me.

Relationships, failed me. Drugs, failed me. I continued to use all of these things for over 20 years, and they all failed me. Then God intervened when I was 32 years old. He used a mighty woman in my life (my Grandma Ceil) to bring me to a place that I would be introduced to Jesus.

God has used this place to radically change my life. There were a lot of internal issues within me such as pride, anger, insecurity; all of which I was completely blind to. I was like a child who never actually grew up. I did not see this at first, but God put people in my life (counselors, teachers, preachers, etc.) who would point these things out to me and minister to me using God’s word. And through learning obedience and having faith that God’s word is true, I was made new.

Today I have the honor and privilege of introducing others to the Gospel as it was introduced to me. To teach others and witness lives being changed that the world deemed unredeemable.

And last, but not least, God has given me not only a completely new life, but He has blessed me with someone to share it with. We get married on July 22nd and I cannot wait to see what God continues to do in our lives!
