Brian Martin

We used to sing a song "when I think about Jesus and what He's done for me, when I think about Jesus and how He set me free, I could dance...jump...run...shout all night." If you would've asked me in February of '21 what my life would look like in 2 years, my answer would've been "I'll probably be dead." That wasn't my plan but that is where I was headed. I had spent 22 years addicted to alcohol. Had a failed marriage under my belt. Was a deadbeat dad that didn’t get to see his kids. And had lost yet another amazing job (on my birthday). I thought that God had washed His hands of me and I honestly wanted to die.

The most important thing I've learned since coming to the Mission is that God is in fact not mad at me. He continues to show me how much He loves me in spite of me. I see His hand all over my life. He is restoring my relationship with my children, He has shown me favor in my legal matters, and He has provided me with (another amazing) job that allows me to provide for my children. He has proven to me time and time again that He is what I've been searching for my entire life! And He is enough! He is good. He is faithful. And He loves me!
